Boys Varsity Baseball · Hawks Varsity Baseball win a Thriller!

Hawks Varsity Baseball took on Lawrence High last night at CBAC.  Lawrence came in with a 5-1 record.  The bats were hot early for the Hawks putting up 5 runs in the first 2 innings.  Grant Strong kept the Lions offense in check through his 4 1/3 innings of work on the mound striking out 7 batters.  Jack Leever came in relief going 2 1/3 inning.  Lawrence offense came alive late scoring 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning, including a 3 run homerun.

The Hawks didn’t let that slow them down as they score 5 more of their own in the bottom of the 6th inning with a true team effort of hit after hit.  Caden Gray came in for 1 1/3 innings to close the game out and get the save for the Hawks.

GREAT High School game to watch as both teams showed class and sportsmanship all night.  THAT is what high school baseball is all about.  The Hawks move to a 6-2 record on the season and take on Olathe South Thursday, 4/8/21 at ODAC.
